PRINCE2® Foundation | Training and Certification

In PRINCE2 Foundation course delegates will be shown how the framework is structured, how the different project activities and project roles are linked together and how PRINCE2 deals with exceptions that are imminent to occur in any kind of project.

During the PRINCE2 Foundation course delegates will learn how to set up a project management organization that is responsible for managing and planning the project. Delegates will be taught how to define the different project management roles to guarantee that the project is run in a most effective and efficient way. The method of ‘management by exception’ will play a crucial role in handling project issues. At the end of the course, delegates can take the official PRINCE2 Foundation exam. If at a later stage delegates wish to take the official PRINCE2® Practitioner exam they will have to have pass the PRINCE2 Foundation exam. An accredited PRINCE2 trainer from Midas will give the training course.

The PRINCE2 Foundation training is aimed at measuring whether a candidate can act as an informed member of a project management team on a project using the PRINCE2 method, within an environment supporting PRINCE2. Towards the end, candidate needs to be able to show he or she understands the principles and terminology of the PRINCE2 method.

Specifically:

• Understand the purpose and responsibilities of all roles.
• Understand the seven principles, the seven themes, the seven processes, and the Product-based Planning and Quality Review techniques.
• Understand which management products are input to, output from, and updated in the seven processes.
• Understand the purpose of all management products and the composition of the Business Case, Product Descriptions, Issue Report and the Issue, Risk and Quality Registers.
• Understand the relationship between principles, processes, themes, deliverables and roles within a PRINCE2® project.

This course is suitable for project managers, team managers, project support staff, quality assurance staff and for anybody else who is somehow involved in participating or running one or more projects.

The PRINCE2® Foundation course is a 3 day program with the official PRINCE2® Foundation exam given at the end of the third day. The course consists of a mix of theory and practical exercises. Most of the exercises will be done in small groups. Every delegate receives access to our PRINCE2 e-learning environment, PRINCE2 Podcast with exercises and slides.

There is no Pre-Requisite to write PRINCE2 Certification but it is highly recommended that delegates read through the Pre-Event manual that will be provided at least 3 days prior to the day of training. Pre-Event manual is an introductory manual to PRINCE2 and it takes about 2 to 3 hours to go through this manual. In case you are attending one of our scheduled batches and you have not recieved the Pre-Event manual, kindly contact us at the earliest.

PRINCE2 certification is a 2-step approach. First you must pass the PRINCE2 Foundation exam. After that you can take the PRINCE2 Practititioner course followed by PRINCE2 Practititioner exam. For your convenience both courses are given back to back from Monday-Friday or can be split among 2 sessions at one or more locations in India or across globe.
